What can I do to protect my child's baby teeth?

Baby bottle decay is the leading cause of decay and tooth loss in very young children. This occurs when a baby is allowed to nurse from a bottle of milk, formula or juice at bedtime.  You can help prevent this by wiping your baby mouth and teeth with a wet warm cloth after nursing and by only giving your baby a pacifier or bottle filled with water at bedtime.  You should try to wean your baby from the bottle at the age of one.
